Privacy Policy

RoConsulat.il ("we", "us") operates the website https://roconsulat-il.com and a private appointment-scheduling service for the Romanian consulates in Israel. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what your rights are. It is written to comply with the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981 and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What we collect

When you submit the appointment request form or contact us on WhatsApp or email, we collect only what is needed to book your consulate appointment:

Full name, phone number, email address and city/home address;
The service you need (oath, new passport, renewal) and the number of people;
Passport or ID details, only when we ask for them and only because the consulate's booking system requires them;
Anything else you choose to tell us in the notes field or in messages.

We do not collect data about your browsing. This website uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is a small flag that remembers you closed the cookie notice, and (on the checklist page) which items you ticked — this never leaves your device.

2. Why we use it

To book the appointment in your name on the consulate's official booking system;
To contact you about your request, send you the booking screenshot, the consulate's confirmation email and the document checklist;
To issue and match your payment of the scheduling fee;
To comply with legal obligations (for example, keeping payment records).

The legal basis is the performance of the service you requested and, for payment records, our legal obligations. We do not use your data for marketing and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

3. Who sees your data

The Romanian consulate (Ramat Gan or Haifa) through its official booking system — this is the purpose of the service;
FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which forwards the contact form to our email;
WhatsApp / Meta and our email provider, if you contact us through those channels;
Revolut, which processes your payment — we never see your card details.

Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy. We do not share your data with anyone else, unless required by law.

4. How long we keep it

Booking details are deleted or anonymised within 12 months after your appointment date, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires.

5. Security

Data is stored in password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication where available. This site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission is 100% secure, so please do not send more than we ask for — in particular, never send passport scans unless we explicitly request them.

6. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to stop processing it. Write to ro.consulat.info@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you believe your rights have been violated you may complain to the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority or, for EU residents, your local supervisory authority.

7. Children

We process children's details only when a parent or guardian gives them to us in order to book the child's appointment.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Significant changes will be announced on the homepage.
